Just wondering .Has the WH commented on the UCSD Incident?

It seems like this is a potentially explosive situation and worthy of commenting on or perhaps intervention by the WH. people marching, hanging nooses, screaming the N word and preaching hate are a sad reflection of race in America.

I think some folks thought that there are not racists among the college aged or something. Not all racists are southern old white guys wearing sheets. Many "educated" whites are racists too.

he was asked a specific question about the Gates incident, he answered honestly. A huge fire erupted in which the right wing, M$M, the whiny Cambridge PD and many fools on the left attacked him for even commenting. He held the "beer summit" so those frothing at the mouth could shut up.

After that brouhaha, you think he will come out on his own and comment on what is basically standard issue racism in America today? There is nothing shocking about the UCSD incident IMO. People need to open their eyes and realize that racism didn't vanish just because we have a black President.

Seems to me that no one who has had regular, significant interaction with black people and other oppressed or disenfranchised minorities would consider this something extraordinary. And it's definitely not something that Obama needs to comment on, but I have a feeling that the OP is probably already aware of that fact.

14. I consider this important enough to comment on. And the very fact that this is a

university setting and is openly done and with no inhibitions makes it notable. The fact that it was reported says it is notable.It is more notable than the issue with Prof.Gates, though Obama had more of a personal stake in that issue.

are recognized they will grow by leaps and bounds. If you ignore something (like antiwar groups too) they will just go away by themselves and not disturb the calm DC corporatists.

8. This is not about White Nationalism. Obama has a chance to really speak to UCSD students

and let them know he is on the side of justice. I think he needs to say something here, although, I know there is a risk that he will be heavily criticized for it.

My guess is that there is some communication behind the scenes.

...and this UCSD thing is a LOCAL issue.... especially since it turns out it was a black student who made a mistake and was not a racially-charged incident.

She claims to be a "minority" who sympathizes with the black students.of course she also "claims' to have accidentally left the noose in the library. If you believe either of those statements.She also said it wasn't meant to be a negative racial connotation and she didn't want to add to the last weeks commotion. Really. and the students who threw the bigoted racist party for black history month weren't black nor was the campus TV personality who used the N word on the air..

Instead, she just said she is a member of a minority who sympathizes with black students. Some of the responses on this thread are just amazing. The bigotry demonstrated in the fliers for the 'party' turned my stomach.
