Republicans appear to be setting government up to fail.

Senate GOP'ers are gridlocking progress in order to make Congress seem ineffectual.

GOP'ers say disgusting, and sometimes inflammatory things in order to dampen political rhetoric and turn away political observers.

They want the current Congress to look as stilted and as negative as they possibly can so that independents will want to vote them out.

Have they, or will they, succeed in convincing many in the electorate that this is the case?

21. I don't know- my take on Obama is that he's a diplomat and a consensus builder

going back a long, long way.

Trouble is- Republicans know that, too- and they'll deny him even the appearance of it in order to frustrate any success he might have on a very basic level.

Others in his own party take advantage of that, too- sensing that he's not about to change his ways.

It's his “hamartia,” the tragic flaw in personality that's often seen in classical tragedy- which when you think about it, is how all this has been playing out.

I think the republicans are just desperate.
I mean who in the hell are they going to find that is going to beat the charismatic Professor with a silver tongue? The truth is that they know he is going to get a second term so they are trying to cripple him as best as they can.
Make no mistake this is a war to them.
Maybe even for their very survival.

will implement policy that works really well and that people will appreciate. That "were all in the same boat" feeling that would have come with single payer health care might still bubble up if HCR passes. The GOP hate the "we are all in this together" meme.
