OFA runs full-page ad in 'USA Today', "You Fight, We'll Fight!"
Today, OFA is running an ad in USA Today to highlight the nearly 9 million -- and counting -- hours pledged by supporters to volunteer for candidates and elected officials who fight for health insurance reform.

OFA supporters have repeatedly smashed the goals set for the "You Fight, We'll Fight" volunteer hours pledge bank, showing that they're ready to knock on doors, make phone calls, and do everything they can to fight for candidates working hard for reform this election season.

Don't you dare condescend to me.And, while he was not my primary choice, I did phone and walk for Obama along with my other candidates. Not a day go by but I am not having to defend myself for persuading my GOP family members to vote for Obama. Don't you DARE patronize me. These little twits have no business lecturing long time activists.

32. That's a great tactic.
Keep alienating the people who voted for Obama. Keep up your holier-than-thou shit until you have turned off every single one of us who worked like hell to get him elected. You and only you will be the one who gets to be Obama's precious, special person. Not that you care about his legacy or his reelection. Not that you care about a liberal agenda. If you can just manage to keep spewing, you can run everyone off and have O all to yourself.

Just how do you think your attitude and your responses can possibly serve the president or the Democratic party? You do want to help, don't you?

49. Almost seems like a voter suppression effort, does it not?
I've thought for some time now that suppressing the liberal vote will get more Republicans elected and allow the administration cover for continuing their move to the right. I have mentioned that in most of my emails and all of my calls to them.

As one long time activist remarked here a while back, some people on DU think activism is manning phone banks while they watch their 401k accounts grow. I think this is the variety who dare question those of us who have been in the trenches for decades. Well, and the ones who thing posting multiple links to WH talking points is activism.

Certainly a legitimate tactic--I really doubt anyone would look to a mushy moderate corporate rag like USA Today as a place to recruit Democratic activists. But it does have a big national circulation, so it's a good place to advertise with an eye to influencing congressional Democrats.

Especially one in which the country was looking to replace Bush. And especially since he's now in the business of governing and not campaigning (you know, like you guys like to say, "just words"). So I can see very, very clearly why they would want to recruit and I don't find it at all surprising. Do you? Or do you just find joy in snickering and giggling like a 6 year old?

73. I think the ad was rather silly.
As for the whining and bitching, I think the bill is crap and a corporate handout, and have been more consistent than our President on what I think Health Care reform is, and he isn't governing, very well.

77. Fight for what exactly? The right to be fined for not having expensive private insurance?
Give people something to fight FOR, and you won't have a problem getting them to fight.
