I'm sending Dennis Kucinich a contribution along with a Thank You letter!

I figured since some of his supporters are asking for their money back,
I'd try to replace a bit of it.

I hope some of my DU friends join me if they are able to financially.

In changing his mind, what he did was principled not in terms of ideology
but in terms of practicality!

I had written him a polite letter a few days back asking for his vote.
I don't know if he read it, but he did what I was asking him to do,
and I didn't think he would. He proved me wrong, and that was a good thing in this instance.

I'm taking my hat off to Dennis Kucinich who could have simply stuck to his gun,
and I humbly say to him, Thank You Rep. Kucinich; you've made a difference in the
life of many in this country (including myself)!

I salute you for doing what is right and looking out for your Constituents in the process!! :patriot:

PS. I'm sure that he'll have plenty more votes to make against whatever this President proposes in the future, so I'm sure that even his most ardent fans who may be disappointed with his decision right now will have their faith restored in their guy sooner than soon. ;)

But do not delude yourself. The passage of this bill will not be anything to cheer about. And frankly...he disappointed many of his constituents today.

He made a very bad choice....as did all those who believe this bill to be anything but a huge mistake.

will be very unhappy in the fall when the R's beat the Dems over the head with it and make big gains as a result.

Still, I ask those who agree with me to see if they have a small amount

As for the "Rs" beating the "Ds", I'm not sure you are correct just yet.
Personally, I think the demise of the Democratic party are way premature,

18. I have a hunch that once the bill is signed the headlines are

going to read "Health Insurance Stocks Soar" and "Insurance Mandate Angers Consumers." The corporate media has been very silent about the specifics of the bill. I think they are laying low, anticipating an all out media blitz to turn the public against it and boost the R's in the midterms. Yes, the bill throws some legit. bones to the public. However, that mandate is going to be like a big albatross around Dems' necks and may well sink them. Time will tell.

20. The mandates don't kick in till 2014, and that year, I believe that the fine is $94.00

although it will incrementally grow to 2.5% of one's income in 2017.

However, the fine, if not paid, cannot be collected via liens or levies, and is not criminally
prosecutable...instead it will be added to one's tax bill. Plus, depending on your income, one can be exempted depending on their income.

Actually, I think folks will love the tax credits they will start to receive with their
2010 tax returns, in 2011.

Democrats may be a lot of things, but when it comes to numbers, they are not as stupid
as some might think.

Especially when the provision for the amount that employers pay in premium for any one employee has to be included on the employee's W-2. This will actually be the first time that employees have an inkling as to how much employer provided healthcare actually cost. That may be an eye opener for some.

See, and this is where I think it's odd. I cannot imagine President Obama countenancing this sort of thing - at least, not if he's the man his most ardent supporters claim he is. I would imagine President Obama would say something like "We need to come together. Join me in donating to a local health care clinic." I think President Obama would be appalled by how some of his ferocious supporters act in his name,
