SPACE A NO

Rep. Zack Space (D-Ohio) is flipping his vote on reform from "yes" to "no," according to a local paper.

The Times Reporter:

U.S. Rep. Zack Space, D-Dover, announced today that he will vote against the health care reform bill being considered in Congress. A vote is planned in the House on Sunday.

“I firmly believe we need health care reform, but we need to do it right,” Space told The Times-Reporter. “I have serious reservations about both the process and the substance involved in this legislation.”

Among his concerns are that the legislation places an inappropriate financial burden on the working class and that it “provides a windfall for the insurance industry” in the form of 30 million new customers.

Rep. Zack Space: 'Yes' To 'No'
moments ago

After more than a day of momentum and switchers, some bad news for Speaker Nancy Pelosi tonight.

Rep. Zack Space (D-OH) announced he will switch his supportive vote for health care last fall to a "no" vote tomorrow, the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports.

"Probably the most significant concern is the pay-fors in the bill," Space said, according to the newspaper. "They are opening the door to taxing employee benefits as income, which is going to create, I don't care how you slice it, a hardship for middle class families that they can't afford to endure right now."

He's in a highly Republican district and first won the seat in 2006 when Democrats won control of Congress.

3. Is he being released?
Leadership keeps insinuating they know they have the votes. Do we think they released Space to vote No?

7. Crush him anyway. I will donate to his opponent this fall.
I will donate to all Dems who choose to side with Rush Limbaugh and Faux News, even if it's just 20 bucks. I don't care about their excuses. Either vote yes, or be crushed by the Dems who recognize the importance of this vote.

11. Hear Hear, Sir!
People who do not stand by the Party, and vote right in a crisis, need to be relieved of any public obligation, as they are unfit to discharge same....

9. Sad to say, he's my rep
The RNC portrays him as a literal puppet of Nancy Pelosi on billboards scattered around my district and idjits lap it up like mother's milk.

10. Someone said Pelosi has the votes and are now letting people off the hook. If true he's not the
scum I thought he was. If false and this bill fails, he's a piece of shit.
