Then he said he'd rather cut his own throat than vote present. How is this show so popular? And the woman just sits there looking dumb. 4

And Halprin is an asshole as well.

5. I'm trying to think of Scarborough's career accomplishments.......
..............

With such an ego, he must have done something of note....besides resigning from Congress to "spend more time with his family."

I wonder how his former dead office aide would feel about Joe Scum's show.

7. Not the "voted present" canard again!
I thought that one had been shelved long ago, after the way the Illinois legislature works and why "present" votes are common among its members had been repeatedly explained. I guess this guy never got the memo(s).

Fact Check: Obama's 'present' votes
(boston.com, January 24, 2008)

THE FACTS: Obama acknowledges that over nearly eight years in the Illinois Senate, he voted "present" 129 times. That was out of roughly 4,000 votes he cast, so those "presents" amounted to about one of every 31 votes in his legislative career.

Illinois legislators often vote "present" and for a wide variety of reasons. Sometimes blocs of lawmakers do it as a protest in some dispute over rules and procedures. Obama was often joined in his "present" votes by 10 or 20 other senators.

In other cases, lawmakers do it to signal objections to the details of a measure that they support in principle. They also use "present" votes as strategic moves to defeat legislation or, of course, simply to avoid taking a firm position.

8. O'Donnell is officially not on our side. This guy is really trying to help the right argue against
the HC bill. Now he's talking about taxes.

13. Jealous and wrong
Said it couldn't be done via reconciliation and, now that it's happening, it must be turned into something destructive.

I have admired Lawrence when he sticks his neck out for our side and will continue to do so. You will still be able to count on him for some righteous anti-Republican rants. But his handling of HCR has been a window into his not-so-insignificant petulant and small-minded side.

21. O'Donnell has really turned out to be a massive ass on this
It's one thing to make certain arguments, but to flip out about certain minor details - the way you'd expect a right-wing nutjob to do is over the top!

10. The Sopranoes are on so now I have something to watch. I was curious what would be said about
history being made. I had no clue O'Donnell would be on feeding them new talking points. That was the most disturbing part of the show.

12. Wow
I'm not watching him this morning, but reading this, how discouraging. Like the Dems who went batshit crazy after 9/11, O'DOnnell is letting HCR send him over the edge. This kills me, because I"ve always liked him a lot. Hopefully he'll quit with the Eeyore stuff soon. Maybe if they move on to a new issue, he'll get over it.

Seriously. Enough, Lawrence.

17. Apoplectic!
I watched earlier this morning, and he's just nuts this morning. I loved earlier when Lesley Stahl gave them 4 points - starting with saying Obama is like Apolo Ohno: starts in the back and then swoops in at the end to win - and after she finished, they didn't even comment on any of it. Just started mocking that she had four points. It was fun to watch!

18. Joe is actually much smarter than he seems on that show - I saw him on
Charlie Rose one time and he actually made some intelligent points, he's not a bad analyst. They pay all those folks to look stupid and chant the GOP line.
