Majority Opposed Doesn't Tell Full Story
Majority Opposed Doesn't Tell Full Story

A new CNN poll finds that Americans oppose the current health care reform plan passed by Congesss, 59 to 39%.

However, parsing the numbers shows that many of those against the plan actually oppose it because "it is not liberal enough." In fact, 52% of Americans either support the current legislation or think it should be more liberal, while only 43% oppose the plan saying it is "too liberal."

3. So why isn't CNN "parsing" the numbers? Isn't that what they are supposed to be there for?
That's ok. Don't tell me. I think I already know.

4. They lump those who thought the bill didn't go far enough with
those who out right opposed it.

Great polling trick.

5. Exactly, Ma'am
This has been the case all along. And the fifty-two percent who support the bill or think it is not liberal enough will almost all vote for Democrats this autumn.

8. What you forgot.
Who else do they think they're going to vote for? And all those other little nifty slogans that have been pulled out and become commonplace recently to try to whip people into line as election time gets close. Yeah. Right.
