the lawsuits, then who will pay for them. It is mostly red states who are almost bankrupt ranting and raging. If I were a person in one of those states I would raise the devil wasting our money. The lawyers and those that know said they can't win, because federal law supersedes state law. So what's the purpose. I thought the idea was that these sorts of things were to be sorted out through elections and the political process. But now they would love them some law made from the bench of an "activist judge" to "thwart the will of the people".

What they did not imagine when they were saying that crap was that sooner or later they would lose an election or two. In particular, they did not know how soon it would happen.
