I'm plenty sure the Senate & House knew this was possible. Mind you, they wanted it done as smoothly as possible. But this is politics. There's nothin' ever smooth about the politics - except the whiskey on the rocks.

This also isn't what Pelosi decried when she asked the Senate if they had the votes. That was for the votes. Had they not had the votes, it would've been an embarrassment of epic proportions.

So what will happen? The Senate is going to vote on this, sans the two provisions, and that will be that. For them, anyway.

Then they'll send this sucker back to the House, who just need to re-vote on what the Senate sent back to them. No debate. No amendments. Just voting.

Pelosi should have the votes.

Then it's done. Over. Finished.
