Ha! GOP Threats to Reconciliation are a Dud

Once it was decided that the House should vote for the Senate bill first, the Senate GOP's new strategy was to proclaim that even the package of "fixes" wouldn't pass through reconciliation. They threatened to blow it up, to pick out huge holes in it, and to offer unlimited amendments so to basically shut down the Senate and prevent passage of the bill. Their strategy was basically to scare skittish House Democrats from voting for the Senate bill. Since the Senate bill was unpopular with House Dems, they figured that if they could make them think the reconciliation bill wouldn't pass, House Dems wouldn't pass the Senate bill.

But once the Senate bill passed, their bluff was totally called. That's why their threats to stop reconciliation fell flat. Did they really want to be in the position of voting against a bill that fixes the Nebraska deal?
