While I agree with her that the government should not be running banks, etc, the fact that they got into the mess under increasing deregulation doesn't speak well of the hallowed free market.

Then Ms. Reimer saw a story about the Tea Party on television. “I said, ‘That’s it,’ ” she recalled. “How can you get this frustration out, have your voices heard?”

She liked that the Tea Party was patriotic, too. “They said the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the national anthem,” she said.

To this sad, pathetic woman, "patriotism" consists of saying the pledge and singing the anthem. But like wearing a flag lapel pin, these are mere symbolic acts! Like all conservatives she sees only the surfaces of things and is completely oblivious of reality. Obsess on symbols; ignore substance.

The worst enemies of America imaginable could easily recite some words about the flag and sing a song about bombs and rockets while still remaining evil and treasonous. In fact, it happens every day.
