Watching Mika The Mouse on Moron Joe yapping about Obama poll numbers showed exactly what is wrong
I was watching Mika the Mouse on MSNBC's Moron Joe this morning talking about how Obama's poll numbers were essentially split down the line, but the narrative she was pushing was that it was perhaps an indication of complete doom for Democrats in the fall elections.

It was like a parent bragging that their child failed math because the parent taught them the wrong answers and was proving that the child failed. It's like a cook not allowing an oven to be turned on but demanding the other cook to make a nice, hot meal.

The narrative on Moron Joe and other 24/7 news channels has been to allow distortion of facts, fear strategies, RNC talking points and general lack of journalistic integrity on the complicated issues regarding health care reform.

Keep lying and eventually people will think it's the truth.

So why are people split on "Obamacare" but the poll numbers show lop-sided support when specific elements of "Obamacare" are measured?

Lazy journalism. Or complete lack of it.

What was funny as well was declared, bitter Republican Maria Bartiromo (CNBC) chime in about how "Obama and the Democrats can't do anything" until she was quickly corrected about how health care reform was passed.

Oh yeah... that, Maria...

5. I turn the show on while getting dressed and other morning stuff
It's kind of like watching the Comedy Channel, which usually has some infomercials on it.

I also like to watch how the media spins, since I work in the media as a profession.

10. I liked how they had some lame hip hop drum loop going on in the background...
...when Mika the Mouse was yakking about polls that were essentially 50%/50% and painting it like Obama's numbers were tanking out of control.

Vodka and Starbucks make for strange reporting.

16. i kinda like their hip-hop selections actually
morning joke and willie's lil pre-show
they have a pretty good dj imo
"classic" hip hop, none of that souljaboytellem craptastica-

more like nas illmatic, pete rock/cl smooth, jay-z's reasonable doubt- and all kinds of obscure, oldhead backpacker isms

they play a lot of zep too- that's always a plus

other than that, they consistently suck

i know none of this is germane to the topic btw, i'm just really into digression this week

15. Keep your enemies closer......
that's how I justify the snippets I listen to while I get dressed and going. But mostly, by far, it's on mute.

6. I think it's worse than we think.
I talked to a guy yesterday, who is a candidate for congress every two years. Every two years, he collects the needed 6,000 or so petitions he needs to get on the ballot as a Democrat. I met him a few years ago when we both spent months outside a DMV office getting signatures. I was working for his primary opponent.

Back then, one thing we never had a problem with, was we could always get a lot of Republicans and Independents to fill out a petition, just out of a sense of fairness, even though they were planning on voting for the Republican in the election.

Monday was the deadline for gathering and turning in petitions. He didn't make it this year. He said that as soon as he told them he was a Democrat, they'd walk away. In the past, they would have signed.

I'm afraid this is a bad omen.

7. Dems let R's frame healthcare so they have their work cut out for them to sell it. Altho--
as James Carville once noted, 'It's the economy, stupid!'

It's always the economy--jobs, jobs, jobs. People must feel the economy is moving in the right direction or Dems will be in big trouble in November.

9. to me, these shows are little more that GOP Campaign Ads -- donated by Corporate Sponsors to avoid
campaign finance laws.

Mika the Meek might as well be in the "Daisy" Campaign ad only the put her and Joe's schtick on a continuous look in order to reach a broader audience.

11. Mika seems to have a very bad case of Stockholm Syndrome.
Hanging around the right-wing former Florida congressman there. What's worse is, her commentary is completely pedestrian and vapid--and at the same time she's no end touchy about it.

A great country needs a good morning show, but America is morning show hell: Morning Joe, American Morning (something to put you back to sleep), Fox & Friends (juvenile dipshittery), Morning Express (Hi! I'm cute and bubbly! Keepin' it light and fluffy here at HLN!). Not a lot to choose from but I find Morning Joe the most tolerable, worth DVRing and fast-forwarding through for a segment here and there.

12. They use poll numbers from select districts.
They will poll in places that already have health care insurance, come from a certain income bracket,or republican district. When you add in those factors you can get what ever kind of numbers you want.Noticed how they never poll anyone who doesn't have health care insurance or a job that doesn't offer affordable coverage. And Maria B. is still stinging from that verbal educational ass whipping that Ms. Melissa Lacewell put on her ass. She couldn't say a word after that. And when she comes on you won't see those two on the same show probably for a long time. And as for Joe Scarborough we are still waiting to find out what really happened with "DEAD WOMAN FOUND IN OFFICE,DEAD WOMAN FOUND IN OFFICE.:hi: :hi: :hi:

13. Do these people forget that Obama got > 50% of the vote?
They're trying to push another 1994 but it's simply not going to happen.
