Happy Easter to my Obama Peeps!
Featuring two of my favorite things in the whole world! Obama .... AND PEEPS!!!

"All of Washington buzzed when President Obama ran down the South Lawn of the White House, showing off the family's new dog, Bo," writes Lauren Lien of Arlington. In her "Little Bo Peep" diorama, Lien captures the moment as the president, red tie flapping in the breeze, jogs with Bo.

"Let's Move Peeps!" by Katherine Hohman of Arlington and Andrea Lee of Chicago serves as "an homage to the First Family for their willingness and dedication to improve the health of our nation," Hohman writes. Peeps play with Hula Hoops and work in the garden as a bobbed Michelle Obama Peep jumps rope.

One of many party-crasher creations entered in this year's contest, the "White House Party Peepers" diorama by Cori Wright of Falls Church, employs Peep versions of the State Dinner guests, including President Barack Obunnypeep, Vice President and Mrs. Joseph R. Bunny Jr., Prime Minister and Mrs. Manmarshmallow Singh and the Marine honor guard.

13. Yes, a beautiful table and from all indications a beautiful home!
Is that an Eva Zeisel serving bowl? LOVE her work.

My family and I had our traditional Easter lunch at the Chattanooga Choo Choo (they turned the old train station into a hotel years ago.) The finest buffet you have ever seen with more desserts than you can count. (I had practically NO breakfast just so I could eat more dessert at lunch.)

And then I talked to a man who owns a shop there at the Choo Choo who I'm fairly certain is an actual teabagger. No politics were discussed, but you know how you can just tell? :)

27. Ah, yeah, the bowl is a little different...
.... I thought it was a plain version of the one shown here at 7 o'clock.

It's a beautiful dish, either way.

21. ehhh .... I'm not a fan of chocolate peeps...
Edited on Sun Apr-04-10 03:55 PM by Clio the Leo
... I'm fairly strict about them. I dont eat off-season Peeps. (Halloween ghosties? No thank you!) and I USUALLY prefer YELLOW Peeps and PINK bunnies ... but, I dunno, maybe it's the spirit of Change that has engulfed the nation, I did try some of the pink Peeps this year because they were lighter than usual.

They were lovely .... in my tumma.

I just celebrated the end of Lent by eating 22 sleeves of Peeps. My religion rocks! ~ Conan O'Brien

(not observing Lent myself, I'm up several sleeves on Conan.)

But for the purpose of recreating art from the ancient world, the chocolate Bunnies were PERFECT.

Edited on Sun Apr-04-10 05:10 PM by Jennicut
They only come out around Christmastime, of course.
I could eat those all day long. Of course, I can have one once in awhile.

And being a diabetic, these are literally a life saver.

.... the brutal sacrifice of so many beautiful Peeps for the purpose of his veneration.

Cheerios on the other hand...
