Birthers prepare to march on Washington

Birthers prepare to march on Washington
Dave Weigel

The long-rumored "birth certificate march on Washington" -- a project of the original birther attorney, Phil Berg -- will happen on Saturday, May 29. Berg is beckoning supporters to the 82-acre President's Park, right across from the White House.

The event will include a protest of health-care reform because, as Berg writes:

The Healthcare bill (ObamaCare) signed into Law by Obama on March 23, 2010 is unconstitutional and voidable since he is ineligible to serve as President of the United States.

Good to know! Of course, there's a promotional video -- which rather rudely adopts the imagery of the 9/12 taxpayer march on Washington. (at link, if you care)

If the media-to-protesters ratio at last week's open-carry rally was about four to one, what's the over/under on the radio this time? Ten to one?

I haven't seen word of this on other birther sites -- much of the energy has moved over to Terry Lakin's court-martial and Orly Taitz's campaign for Secretary of State in California -- and Berg is better known for his tenacity than his organizational skills.

2. Thanks for the heads-up.
I was here during the huge march for immigrants on the Hill a few years back, and though I didn't actually see that event unfold (only pictures in the paper), I saw the families coming back --tired, but still joyful.

A relatively small and extremely bitter bunch like the birthers will no doubt get media coverage -- there may even be more breast-beating from Howard Kurtz that maybe the media isn't covering this enough but the tide will be firmly against these clowns by May 29th, I'm sure. But they're welcome to spend money in the nation's capital. At least that will do a few local merchants et al e some good.

4. I wish I could pin point the exact time
that America entered the Era of Silliness. It may be that it was halfway through the Bush administration, also known as the Era of Stupid, that it began. It just sort of slipped up on me. I wasn't paying attention I was so glad to get rid of the Era of Stupid. Just think what has happened since the election of 2008. Several new political parties have been formed. There is the Birther Party which seems to swear by the rule of law that says our President Obama was not born in the U.S. The members are not too bright. There is the Tea Party whose Goddess is Sarah Palin. Most of the members are older and not wiser. When I worshipped a Goddess it was Maria Montez on film at the Strand Theater. I would go home and BE Maria as the sultry arabian girl who was playing against type. Now we have the Kick out the Alien Party. Arizona simply doesn't like brown-skinned people so they passed a law that was prayed over by the governor before she signed the law. She must be a real believer. And wow! If one sets foot across the line they will be welcomed by a sheriff that sounds like Foghorn Leghorne and treated like the Taliban. They want to keep Camp Gitmo open in order to keep them rounded up. Then, there is the Skin them Alive Party headed by Goldman Sachs. Now that party has balls. They sit and listen with curled lip while the Senators use profanity in front of them because that is the only language G-S knows. My theory on why these parties came to be is that a lot of stupid people in this country just can't stand it that an intelligent, good-looking, thoughtful, caring black man is now the leader of our country. Now that is what makes us a country of silly and stupid people. Over and out.

22. I doubt it

The last time birthers had a prayer vigil in DC, something like four of them showed up.

Orly Taitz once had a "rally" of about five people in New York.
