April 29, 2010 - Ohio Senate, Governor Races Remain Tight, Quinnipiac University Poll Finds; Obama Still Under Water

Democrats have small leads for governor and U.S. Senator in Ohio, while President Barack Obama's job approval remains stuck in the mid 40s, and the new health care legislation is decidedly unpopular, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Gov. Ted Strickland leads Republican John Kasich 44 - 38 percent, statistically unchanged from the 43 - 38 percent lead he held in the March 31 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University.

In the U.S. Senate race, Democratic Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher gets 40 percent to Republican Rob Portman's 37 percent while Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner edges Portman 40 - 36 percent. Fisher and Brunner meet May 4 in a primary to determine who will face Portman in November.

And if Ohioans can defeat Rob Portman in that Senate race they may also be blocking a future Portman presidential bid. The guy is dangerously electable.

8. Years ago I saw Kasich on Larry King

It was when Clinton was Pres. He was on the show debating Sen. John Glenn. About what, I don't even recall. He was so very rude to Sen. Glenn that I wrote a letter to Larry King. I told him I was appalled that anyone would be so rude to an American hero (forget politics) and he (Larry) must be appalled as well. He spoke to John Glenn as if he was some idiot. It was just so disrespectful. Not a civil conversation at all just rude, crude and unattractive. Made Kasich look and sound like a someone who crawled out from under a rock. I really don't think Larry has had him on his program since. This had to be 15 years ago. But I'll never forget it. Blech.
I rarely post but I thought I'd tell you all about what a creep Kasich really is, as if you didn't already know.

The Democrat was ahead In the last poll for governor but Dems have gain In polling for the senate.
Last one had Portman ahead.Stange Q has one of the smallest Obama's approval numbus even Fox has
him at 46 percent and Ras at 48 Percent yesterday.

7. Kasich and Portman are Repukes

Strickland is the DLC incumbent governor.

Fisher is also DLC. Brunner is the Secretary of State who cleaned up some of Blackwell's mess and kept Ohio from being stolen in 2008 like it was in 2004.

6. Dems will lose some senate seats we hold, but we have potential to gain in GOP states

such as Ohio, Florida and yes, Arizona.
