CONCORD, N.H.—A Concord firefighter who is a Democratic state representative is running for New Hampshire's 2nd Congressional District seat.
John DeJoie (DUH'-joy) announced Monday he will seek the seat being vacated by Democratic Congressman Paul Hodes, who is running for the U.S. Senate. DeJoie is serving his fourth term in the New Hampshire House. He has worked as a firefighter in Concord for 14 years.
DeJoie said he will work to create jobs, protect consumers, reform health care and provide high quality services for veterans.
Hopkinton lawyer Ann McLane Kuster also is seeking the Democratic nomination.
