we are STILL there, let us remember. so, a timetable for withdrawal is announced for vietnamistan. great. anything can be announced, and, quite frankly, this country cannot AFFORD to wait and see if the timetable is real. how many people are going to die, or be seriously wounded--have their lives, and those of their families, ripped apart before this "timetable of withdrawal" actually happens. how many more trillions is it going to cost us, now and into the future?

personally, I think the post about marion, indiana, was brilliant--maybe that is what we should all do.

1. The withdrawl date for leaving Iraq is legally binding....

... meaning if we dont leave by the date agreed upon, not only will the Iraqis be highly pissed at us, but probably the rest of NATO as well.

It's not something that we can change at whim.

The agreement said we had to be out of all major cities by June 30, 2009 and we did that.

We made one of those legally binding agreements, we can probably make another one.

We are replacing the troops with paid contractors for a net gain U.S. presence in Iraq.

Keith reported "essentially no 'no bid' military contracting..." but since then, I haven't heard/read any press on the matter at all.

you know that we have routinely violated the SOFA with the ROK for about 50 years, right???? LORD have mercy......some people think a SOFA is something the US follows to the T.
