WebMD Exclusive: President Explains New Health Insurance Site

The Obama administration is known for its use of the Internet and social media to communicate with the American public. It's not surprising, then, that President Obama himself starred in an online video explaining an issue that's confusing to many people: the new health care reform bill. In the video, released July 28, Obama shows people how to use a new web site, healthcare.gov, created to help the public understand provisions of the Affordable Health Care Act. With the public remaining divided on the new law, the White House hopes the new web site can educate people about its provisions. Read more about the initiative on WebMD's news blog

1. Making it easier to see who you can overpay
Way, way overpay.

Except you can't yet figure out who you can overpay the least, but fortunately that's coming to the site soon.

I'm glad that Obama pointed out that children can no longer be denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition. Although there's no cap on premiums, so does it matter?

3. You're free to ignore the new law and pay your current inflated premium
Also, don't forget to pay the yearly rate increases of about 30% every year. I'm certain that your insurer wont mind the extra cash you send them every month.

5. And which part of the law will reduce my premiums?
My understanding is that's precisely what's missing.

2. Oh My God!! I was on that site two days ago. I didn't know the Pres was involved in that.
That's great. I was checking out the site and found it ridiculously informative. I wasn't aware it got so good because of the President's involvement. I had done a search---and found it but didn't really pay attention to the addy. I'm so using it. Thanks JD.

6. It's a good site, but missing quite a few things
Like what are the options if you have insurance but it sucks?
