WHCA votes and moves Fux news to the front row, but not the seat formerly held by Helen Thomas .....

Earlier today, the White House Correspondents Association met to decide what to do with that empty front row seat in the briefing room. Now Michael Calderone from Yahoo! News reports that the seat, which became available when Helen Thomas retired earlier this year, will go the Associated Press.

However, the AP's old front row seat will go to Fox News, confirming a report from Calderone last week.

According to a statement from the WHCA, the decision was "very difficult," citing requests from Bloomberg and NPR to receive a front row seat.

"ll three made compelling cases. But the board ultimately was persuaded by Fox's length of service and commitment to the White House television pool."

Fux news commitment? Committed to what?

Just for the record, Fux is now in the front row, right next to NBC. There seat, from standing at the podium looking out, is the second from the end on the right.

6. The importance of Helen's seat as Dean of the WH Press Corps was that she got the right

to ask the first question at the Press Corps briefings. Am I correct on this?

Hasn't NPR been around for decades?
Or at least since before Fox came on the scene as a "news" organization?

Apparently the White House staff doesn't get to decide the seating arrangements. But they certainly can decide who gets to enter the White House in the first place. Just tell the Fux "reporters" they're not welcome.
