(IOKIYAR evidently words in the Senate, as well. A shameful record!)
Senate Democrats Drop BP-Climate Bill Until After Recess
Christina Bellantoni

August 3, 2010

"It's clear that Republicans remain determined to stand in the way of everything," Reid told reporters at a press conference. He said the votes are postponed until after senators return from recess Sept. 14.

Sen. John Kerry (D-MA), who worked on a bipartisan bill for months, said Reid does not have the needed votes on this bill or any comprehensive energy measure because "not a single Republican" is on board.

"It really just shouldn't be this hard," he said, going on to complain about GOP obstruction.

Kerry claimed Republicans have forced the same number of procedural cloture votes from January 2009 through today as were held between World War I and a man walking on the moon. "They are shutting down the Congress," he said.

2. We can't know if Pres. Obama's agenda would have worked.
Because no one would ever let him truly try it his way.

3. This is why I recommended removing Harry Reid from Majority Leader
and putting anybody up that has the balls to go nuclear option on the Rethugs. Let them face the wall for 6 years whining.

It's WAY past time to invoke the Nuclear Option - it's past time to start biting the Thugs in the ass.

5. Yeah ...
I wouldn't use the nuclear option, but I would most frucking for sure make them earn their crape ... I would have the entire chamber in session over weekends, they would god darned well have to to hold the floor on filibusters ... I find it hard to believe that he can't put the wood to them procedurally ...

And, I REALLY hope the mindset is not that they are afraid of what the Rs might do if they got into the majority, cause they sure as freak are going to do it regardless ...

7. That's why the Rethugs are in the minority, and will remain there until it ceases to exist
And that will be very soon.

4. Incompetent bunch, those GOP buffoons...
They haven't learned a thing since Newt "shut down" the government that every seems to despise...until they need something from that "despicable" body...:eyes:

People need help, and the government is held hostage by a bunch of stooges...like I've said before, we are witnessing the self destruction of a major political party.

6. He should keep them in session until there's a vote on climate change.
Let some of the Republicans go home if they don't like it. Democrats can vote without them.

9. This is a sad, sad commentary on how power and politics is getting in the way of doing what is right
for the American people and our country. It is disheartening and frightening.
