States should not be left to flounder or else we will lose Nov election

This is the stuff that's going to lose us the election in November. This is a big one among voters. Why do the ordinary people hae to suffer? Hopefully congress put enough money in to the states that our services are not suffering.

"Plenty of businesses and governments furloughed workers this year, but Hawaii went further — it furloughed its schoolchildren. Public schools across the state closed on 17 Fridays during the past school year to save money, giving students the shortest academic year in the nation and sending working parents scrambling to find care for them.

Many transit systems have cut service to make ends meet, but Clayton County, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta, decided to cut all the way, and shut down its entire public bus system. Its last buses ran on March 31, stranding 8,400 daily riders."

the House still has to repass it, and guess what, the same usual suspect Dems are evidently balking. I tried to find a link but can't. I hope it is just idle threats or paranoia but given the obtuseness of those folks we can't be sure.

2. A local school district here in Southern California also

furloughed schoolchildren - closing down for a week in May. This is a relatively "wealthy" district, and there was no big public outcry. People just accepted it. It's pathetic that we've reached the point where we close down the public schools and no one considers it a big deal.
