Dr. Laura REPEATEDLY says the N word to a black woman married to a white guy

1. I got the feeling the caller was a white woman testing Dr. Laura.

I say this because Black woman sensitive to the issue of race as the caller says she is would not sit there and accept Dr. Laura's response the way she did---the reaction and response would be wholly different. A doctor, might I add, who shouldn't be a doctor. From the first statement, this doctor marginalizes the viewers feelings as hypersensitivity. I can't deny that, but even the hypersensitivity is understandable. And in the callers response, what was done was more along the prejudice vein---by implying that Blacks are in some way wholly different from Whites and live in an alien world---it basically lessens us to being sub-human. And the doctor obviously ignored that. And then the rant into Obama and how Blacks voted for him because he was Black is absurd. Absolutely absurd. I need to see what statistics she picked this bit of information from. And she basically buys into a racist point of view.

However, for many of us Blacks---there are two worlds, it's a state we're forced to live in because of how White people perceive us as the other so now we respond in kind. The Dr.'s statements doesn't bother me as much as it should.

I couldn't get through the OP's link to listen carefully to the timbre of the caller's voice. The minute the good "Dr." got on her high horse assumption of a superior ability to define racism, I bugged out. :puke:

7. The caller? I'm not speaking about tone of voice.

I'm speaking about response. Her response to counter Dr. Laura's comments didn't come across as a Black woman's response to me. It sounded like a someone playing or testing a response from Dr. Laura. Not that I hold the idea that Dr. Laura ever got her degree.

10. She's an idiot and she's abusive, in fact she capitalizes on both

and lives as a very wealthy and powerful person largely because of the abuse she heaps on troubled callers.

i used to listen to her show frequently when i was on the road and there was not much else and the pattern was unmistakable.

people would call with a problem and she would treat them like crap. Was it in service of making them better? No, in every call there was a concerted focus on something the caller said that was used to humiliate and degrade them.

i hate her. if i could justify it, i would call her a bad word that i'm not supposed to use.
