Republicons Upset because they have been branded the Party of Rape
Edited on Sat Dec-05-09 11:53 PM by TheBigotBasher
You'd think rape would be one issue Republicans would be smart enough not make into a partisan issue, but no. They couldn't help themselves.

Franken passed an amendment that was attached to a defense bill that would withhold government contracts from companies that refused to let employees bring rape cases before the courts. It should be common sense to vote against rape, but thirty Republicans happily voted in support of rapists, now they are whining the night away because bloggers and some MSMers have highlighted their atrocity. And in their usual silly reality, they are blaming Sen. Al Franken because they are getting hammered over their malfeasance.

Wow, they escaped War crimes and this bothers them. Well fuck you with a meatprod Rethugs. You either support women or you don't. You voted NO.

The Republicans are steamed at Franken because partisans on the left are using a measure he sponsored to paint them as rapist sympathizers — and because Franken isn’t doing much to stop them.

“Trying to tap into the natural sympathy that we have for this victim of this rape —and use that as a justification to frankly misrepresent and embarrass his colleagues, I don’t think it’s a very constructive thing,” Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) said in an interview.

Well you could always be like Palin and charge them for rape kits. As Crooks and Liars said

Cornyn should be embarrassed by the Republicans, but instead tries to say they were misrepresented. Really? Did he vote yes or no? That's the only question that should be debated.

4. They have economically raped our country for 30+ years.....
funny that they have no issue w/it 1:1. They KNOW that they are sociopaths - they attempt to rationalize their mental disturbance by saying 'it's OK' in X,Y or Z situation........

They are F$%^#ing SOCIOPATHS.

I want the next merch to be against the SOCIOPATHIC mentality.

5. Good post, but may I suggest one edit while you still have time.
You wrote "It should be tough voting against rape", but I really don't think that is what you intended to say. The Republicans did not vote against rape, they voted against the victims of rape.

14. Just another sign of how distant these people are from any...
kind of reality.

How anyone could even appear to defend an assault on women is beyond the pale. Rapists need to be charged, tried and if convicted, spend long prison sentences. There is no alternative. The very notion that "arbitration" could somehow be a substitute for charge and trial for a horrific crime is unfathomable. Makes me wonder if these clowns have wives, daughters, mothers, nieces, aunts...I am surprised any of them still have a seat in the Senate...:grr:

18. They find themselves in a position where they no longer believe in justice at all.
Justice, which includes trial by jury is now being rejected by Republicans for purely partisan reasons.

The Republicons have become fascists.

19. They've been fascists for a while...
It has just become more obvious very recently.

They've run into the corner, and have no idea how to extricate themselves from what they've created.

20. You are right.
On every major issue of justice in the past few years they have bee on the wrong.

America was built on the idea of justice, although it has not often delivered. Their stance on the trials of the 9/11 accused are entirely the opposite of what those who proclaim themselves Conservative should be.

When a Political Party moves so far to the Rihgt that key members of it are behind a potential genocide in Uganda you have to ask yourself what has the Grand Old Party become?

The Republicans of today need to understand that even their Saint Ronny, would probably sit in their face.

25. Franken's ammendment never got the attention that the ACORN fiasco got in the msm
I doubt many in the public know what kbr got away with. As far as the msm goes Acorn's story about prostitution that didn't actually happen is more important than gang rape at kbr that has happened more than once.

It makes me sick.
