Yes, the last "troops are leaving Iraq" tonight. Except for the 50,00+ that will remain to train and, um, guard shit. Like oil wells, for instance.
So why is Dick Cheney happy?
Halliburton wins Iraq oil contractAn Iraqi oil official has said Iraq, along with oil and gas major Royal Dutch Shell and Malaysia's Petronas, has awarded a contract to Halliburton to drill 15 oil wells in the giant Majnoon oilfield, Reuters has reported. Petrofac also secured a contract to build two crude processing plants with a capacity of 50,000 barrels per day (bpd) each and to rehabilitate the existing crude plant, the official added. "These contracts are part of implementing the preliminary plan to develop Majnoon oilfield for the next two years," the oil official told the news service on condition of anonymity.
http://www.ameinfo.com/240406.html Majnoon, located in southern Iraq, is among the richest oil fields in the world, with oil reserves of 23 to 25 billion barrels and proven reserves of 12.8 billion barrels of oil. The field was named Majnoon (crazy) due to an excessive presence of oil in a limited area on the east of the Tigris River in Basra Governorate.
