was searching if the 95 year old man's letter to Obama was real, and found this hate thread about O

Was seeing if I could find out about the WWII vet forward that I got sent by a couple I know, where the supposed letter written by the WWII vet told Obama to shape up, was real or not, because those things are usually false and written by a hater - and I like to write back all the people in the email forward to tell them the forward is a lie, which is always fun to do, because the people who sent me the forward never apologize for sending lies.


Still trying to find out if the letter from the WWII Vet is real or not? Anyone know? It's very negative against the president, and I wanna be able to write back and refute the lies. I searched on google, but ended up only finding talk about it on a website that turned out to be a VERYYYY hateful site against Democrats. (name ended in 'nation')

sand when I bring up something that I'd figure YOU of all people would want to look into, then go right ahead.

No one can win with you FC. You are so overboard it's ridiculous. I wanted to find out if the letter, as I SAID CLEARLY, was real or not, and went to google to find out info on the letter I received. I went to snopes and found nothing and searched google.

So, take your incredible snark elsewhere. I want my president safe and wanted an opinion by one of the smart members here who would know if what that jerk said was over the line or not.

6. I write back the people that send forwards to me, I said in the OP I was looking for info to see if

it was true or not, you surely saw that. I write back to the entire list of email addresses in the forwards list, and tell them that the forward they have been sent was a lie. So, I was trying to see if this one was untrue, 9 times out of 10 they are, but I want to be accurate, and that's why I use snopes first then go to google and search some words from the forward to try and find out if it's real.

I found that thread, scrolled down, and saw that hateful comment about Obama, and thought some of the knowledgeable posters here would know if that was over the line.

So, you gonna give your opinion on what I asked or not?

8. How in the WORLD would I know what site to stay away from? I've never seen that website name in my

life! It's not like there's a little pop up that says, "Stay away from this website, it's a hateful website". Ya know.

So, I guess I don't need to report the comment then, since you mentioned they are probably watching these mouthbreathers.

Thanks for debunking false info and forwarding it to all others listed. Me too. Heck, after awhile, I noticed I don't get those emails anymore :-)

When I want to check out something like that, I will cut and paste a unique part of a sentence and then google that in quotes. Try that and see what happens.

Someone who received the e-mail used Congress.org to send it to the president and two senators from Florida. That led some on the Internet to attribute the letter to a Florida resident, which was incorrect.

As it turned out, however, the letter was legitimate. Though he couldn't reach the author, the publisher of a Navy magazine that once featured the veteran confirmed he had dictated the letter to a secretary and signed it personally.
