Glen Beck is a Mormon?

His tribute for philantropy today, with the black lady accepting, was to Jon Huntsman, Sr. He is the father of the present Ambassador to China, former Governor, Jon Huntsman, Jr. He is also a big shot in the Mormon Church.

Of course, Mitt Romney is also a Mormon and will probably be a frontrunner for his Party in 2012. This "show" today, put a more compassionate face on Mormonism. It really is no different from other mainstream religions. Is that what they were attempting to convey?

Could that be the underlying reason for this "show" today? Just thinking...

to be accepted as mainstream Christians.

Since mainline Christians do not believe that there are millions of gods, that Jesuus and Satan are brothers, that God copulates with his harem to produce spirit children, that Mitt Romney will someday be a god with his own planet and harem, etc., they have had to de-emphasize their actual beliefs and instead show everyone how wholesome they are, hence Donny & Marie, Steve Young, all this talk of honor and giving and such today, etc.

I have no doubt that today's rally is part of this ongoing P.R. campaign.

6. Mitt Romney is absolutely dead in the water

At the Utah convention he made a special trip to support Sen Bennett's reelection.

He was roundly booed and laughed at.

Bennett came in third place.

Romney doesn't do well in Iowa and will lose in a landslide to the Huckster/Palin candidate as right wing evangelicals hate Mormons.

Romney condemned the auto bail out so the one state that gave him a boost, Michigan is now out.

You would be hard pressed to find anyone in the Republican Party who thinks that Romney has a chance. Teabaggers don't like him, social conservatives don't trust him, natiional security Republicans don't think he is smart enough.

Given the fact that Republicans never have confidence in someone who has failed to get the nomination in an open contest (Reagan was challenging an incumbant President and almost defeated him) and the strong preference for governors, and the fact that Republican Presidential campaigns are relatively short compared to Democrats and given the fact that Iowa/NH has an even more important role for Republicans than Democrats I believe that Mitch Daniels has the clear early advantage and if he should run would be likely to do well in both Iowa and NH.

17. Yes, right wing evangelicals, particularly conservatively religious evangelicals

believe that Mormonism is a cult and is therefore evil. They consider it it to be worse than Islam because Islam does not in any way claim to be Christian as Mormonism does.

The word needs to get widely out that Beck is a Mormon (nothing wrong with that since he is likely proud to be a Mormon) because it will cause division within the Republican party among evangelicals.

The Republican Party in Iowa is strongly influenced by right wing fundamentals. Romney started a year earlier and poured atleast $ 10 million into Iowa outspending Huckabee 20 - 1. Each caucus goer cost Romney something like $ 4000 a piece. He spent tons of time there and his family criss crossed the state. Iowans don't like Romney.



Romney's camp is banking that its more traditional ground campaign and blast of television ads will convince Hawkeye State Republicans that the former Massachusetts governor is the more reliable, electable conservative. Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor and Baptist preacher, estimates he is being outspent 20 to 1 by Romney in Iowa and says it would be a miracle for him to finish even second in the GOP caucuses tonight, though the polls indicate the two are deadlocked.

With business school efficiency, Romney methodically started a year ago with voter lists purchased from the state party to line up precinct captains and build a base. With 17 full-time staff members supervising hundreds of volunteers in all 99 counties, Romney has been campaigning for a year, and has been on the airwaves since last March.



Since he moved to NH it negates any advantage for him. If he wins people will say he won it because it is his home state. If he wins by a little people will see him as a weak candidate and if he loses it will be a massive humiliation.
