Libertarian Party Denies Murkowski Potential Ballot Line
Edited on Mon Aug-30-10 12:27 PM by FBaggins
The Executive Committee of the Alaska Libertarian Party held an emergency meeting yesterday to discuss the contested primary results in the Republican Senate primary. All 5 board members met in an undisclosed location in northeast Anchorage to hammer out a decision as to how to move forward <...>

On Sunday morning, over coffee and donuts, the ExComm voted unanimously, 5 to 0 to deny the Senator the ballot line. There was no malice intended. ALP Chair Kohlhaas has repeatedly stated that she is a nice lady, and the ALP was flattered by the offer.

1. Two of the members support the teabagger

and became aggressive at the start of the meeting. The F bomb was thrown around...

Anyway, I think this is good news for us.

2. To be expected.
Libertarians in that state would be more likely to accept Miller as their candidate (were he to lose the primary) than to help Murkowski run against him. But the head of the party is a former republican who has some "bad blood" issues with Palin (and therefore Palin's selected candidate).

So there was bound to be some in-fighting.

Anyway, I think this is good news for us.

"Good" because he's at least theoretically beatable and she isn't... even better because the three-way polling looked like a race between the two Republicans and at least this way (especially if she keeps the sour grapes) the race could become competitive.
