Did anyone see Chris Mathews show yesterday?
I know there is a lot of criticism for him from a lot of people here but the first 15 minutes of his show was very instructive for all Democrats. He defined and portrayed the Republicans in exactly the way a White House spokesman should define them. It was enlightening to see someone explain it the way Tweety did.

2. Chris and his brother (a Montco, PA republic county commissioner) are both kind of
schizoid in their political views and expressions.

Right now, Jim Matthews has joined with Democratic commissioner Joe Hoeffel to oppose the other rethug commissioner (a wingnut, former DA) on the more extreme of his policies.

That fits with the appearances of a sometimes "good Chris" and sometimes the "bad Chris."

Not great, by any means, but not as bad as some of the nominally Democratic Blue Dog and DLC pseudo-Dems.

5. Chris was great. Two days in a row, he instructed the Democrats
Come out fighting and on the offense.

The Democratic Party is supposed to be the party of Working
People and Poor. Get back to your roots. Reclaim SS as
a Democratic Program , likewise Medicare and Safety Net.
Put up a fighting spirit. This doe not mean just saying
I am fighting for you. Put The Republicans with Wall Street
and Big Business. Go negative or lose. is his basic message.
These times are such that Negative Campaigns are the only way
to win.
