Not a mention of the President's speech on Morning Joe today

I don't consider them to be so. They are entertainment with a bit of news used as topic material, these are not serious discussions of issues.

You don't get any kind of "information" from this show, you only get some kind of twisted afterschool special on abusive men controlling submissive people, with a highly partisan republican political message ...

I TRIED to watch this show early on, but the painfully superficial "conservative" slant to EVERYTHING aside, I want to get in my car and drive to NYC, walk into the room and beat the ever loving crape out Scarboro ...

I now make a point of never watching it (while VERY much wanting to provide MSNBC the ratings) because I want the show to flunk out and him to get canned ...

THAT is why you should not watch it ...

Shallow, ignorant coverage. But it helps to demonstrates just how powerful the speech was since the Morning Joe folks couldn't figure out how to deal with it in their usual snarky, manipulative way so they just ignored it.

10. Just before I went over to C-SPAN...

they were talking about how attacking Boehner wouldn't work because not many people knew of Boehner, (stupid). Then, one of them made the very real point, this speech was in OH...:D

I think the only dumber am crew is Fox and Friends...and it's hard to reach the level of stupidity over there.

Some credit is due Mika though, she tries to get some news out, but Scarborough acts like a 3yo making faces, interrupting, and spinning in his chair...the man is a cretin.

12. He was quite obnoxious on the subject of mentioning obesity. He

said (to paraphrase) the next one to mention obesity would be fired..Mika just looked at him. I watched from six and did notice they were very subdued and seemed off kilter early in the show. They then started in immediately on the Florida Quaran situation and I had to leave the show. I knew I'd miss it and was dying to hear what Ford had to say. Then the guy from Politico comes on to discuss the Dems "terrible numbers." Better off at Publix...LOL.

14. Scarborough doesn't like the "obesity" discussions because of his fat head.

the man is truly an idiot. I watch it when I get up until C_SPAN comes on, and it's only for the "entertainment" value. I often chuckle at the abject stupidity of Scarborough and his minions. Then again, they have Katrina vanden Heuval on quite often and she almost always counters JS with a logical discussion, while Scarborough opens his mouth and proves he's a moron.

I saw a while back when Mika's father was on and called JS shallow....:rofl:

16. The obesity "battle" is a running "gag" just like references to Mika's "morning helper".

Although I don't understand why network management would effectively allow someone to mock news stories on a topic that's pretty important.

21. Yes there was. They pretty much mocked Obama for going after Boehner.

The only part of his speech they talked about was how ridiculous it was for him to go after someone who nobody knows. Buchanan did his usual thing about how Obama shouldn't be "punching down," Joe and Mark Halperin (whose op-ed Joe read on this subject) agreed that it's the wrong tactic for Obama to attack Boehner when he may very well end up having to work with him as Majority Leader, and they just kept bashing the speech.

But John Heilmann thought it was the RIGHT thing to do-to make Boehner his foil and to clarify the differences between him and the Dems. and their attitudes on tax cuts for the rich.

Pres Obama pointed out what he wanted to do for the country and boehner was against it. If the President hadn't gone after boehner he would be remiss in his job and that would be just fine with the sniveling, jealous republicons.
