WH Press in a Twitter Obama wasn't wearing wedding ring at Press Conference
:banghead:

Sometimes, a White House press conference can be a chance for a president to take some weight off his shoulders ... but weight off his fingers?

Eagle-eyed reporters noticed that President Barack Obama wasn't sporting his wedding ring during Friday's White House press conference.

"big to-do over potus not wearing his wedding ring today," Tweeted The Hill's Sam Youngman, who was at the presser.

UPDATE: A White House spokesman tells POLITICO that Obama's ring is being repaired, though it's unclear what needed to be fixed.

And note if you click on link Politico just has to let us know his ring is from Indonesia!

30. LOL! When I see this totally mundane crap, I must agree & grieve
Me poor old widowed mother struggled to get my butt into college so I could become an English major (I still only speak Joisey) with the hope of a career in journalism.

Who knew all I would have to do is drum up useless insulting crap to spew over the 24-hour cable channels if I had a decent haircut & a studio wardrobe???

I try not to let it depress me when I think of all the poor, inner-city kids who would be great, truly great, journalists but will end up working at a Mickey-D's...while the WH Press Room is filled with the authors of these great headlines. Jeebers. :banghead:

4. You know if the press spent more time covering real news instead of made up news maybe
they wouldn't be among the institutions in this country so disliked.

5. Well they did have a fit with Bush once for the same thing
altho Bush never gave a reason. The press said Laura got angry with him over drinking and had moved into the Mayflower. It didn't last long and the press dropped it.

7. I don't think the press ever reported Laura was mad
More like The Enquirer & The Globe tabloids.

So much for the era of Woodward and Burnstein - the chattering classes might as well be monkeys at typewriters.

Just give the crazy wingnuts time to think of it and that'll be their next meme. Rush Limbaugh is probably having a brain fart right now.

13. If there was really a problem, he's too smart to NOT wear the ring. The fact that
he's without kind of proves it truly is something boring, like getting it repaired. Maybe he's lost weight and needs it resized or something.

29. Maybe he woke up during the night and took it off ?
Sometimes I do. My hands can swell a little at night and with some old carpal tunnel issues it is better sometimes to just take off watch and ring. Sometimes I leave them off for a day or two.

15. This sounds like something Chuck Todd would
get all breathless about. Having come of age in the 60's and watched Cronkite and Dan Rather in the field etc., what an embarrassing bunch of Yahoos we have trying to be journalists. I have to laugh today. The two guys I always thought of as right-wing assholes in the 60's and 70's were David Brinkley and Tom Brokow! Chet Huntley and Jane Pauley were the left wing Yin to their Yang--at least that was my perception. But the shit we have to endure today...wow!

16. the American economic crisis is the least of their worries--satisfying fat-cats w/ innane criticism
of the President is both easy (off the cuff opinion) versus substantive discussion of policy and facts.

These people are truly creepy.

17. Does the media have any dignity left?
I realize integrity is out the window, but one would think dignity would still be something that is seen as a positive. This is somehow newsworthy, what the hell is the matter w/these people...:eyes:

Lots of things could explain its absence. Maybe he played a round of basketball and took it off to shower up. I never could stand wearing a wedding ring and getting my hands wet- so I got my ring tattoed on.

27. Conspiracy? My husband wasn't wearing his wedding ring today either
He was about to undergo surgery, and they made him take it off. I wore it for several hours, and then gave it back to him in the recovery room. Thank god no reporters were there.

31. My father never wore his to work
He'd take it off before he left the house and put it back on when he returned (safety reasons: he worked in an industrial setting). Mr. Retrograde has never had one, and I lost mine in 1974 and haven't bothered to replace it. I don't like wearing rings. BFD.

Doesn't the White House press corpse have more important things to report about, like Michelle's taste in drapes, or the president's actual policies and decisions?
