Politico omits Boehner's dreadful polling numbers

In an opinion piece published by Politico, Keth Koffler suggests the White House's recent political jousting with Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) might backfire {emphasis added}:

The president and his attack dogs may ultimately find that they are assailing a man whose views and style are just what the country wants right now. Because Boehner is the anti-Obama.

What did Koffler leave out? According to the latest polling data I can find, Boehner boasts a 22 percent approval rating.
