5. Frum's article is a must read. He knows the Republicans are on a crash course with disaster, but

the really interesting point concerns the reality of effecting change. Frum points out that Pres. Obama has already achieved as much as he realistically could in his first term. In all likelihood Pres. Obama will win a decisive re-election in 2012, and Democrats will likely hold majorities in the House and Senate. That's when Pres. Obama can claim a mandate to effect change, and that's what those who are disappointed with first term accomplishments should target. That's been true all along. I disagree with Frum's ideology, but there is wisdom in his analysis that we should heed.

Hope he's right. I agree with Frum in that I've thought for a long time that Obama has some political debts to re-pay in the 1st half of his 1st term (through mid-term elections) that prevented him from swinging too far left, though I think that was a flawed analysis. In any case, "lame ducks" tend to be more free to be themselves as they move towards the end of their political shelf-life.

I do like what Frum has to say about future election prospects for Dems. When he states Dems will hold majorities...is that in 2010, or 2012 (I know...I should go read the article myself). Frum seems to be an astute, and reasonably realistic and rational (redundant) republican strategist.

15. He's pointing out that even if the GOP grabs the House or Senat in 2010, there is likely to be

a backlash restoring control to the Democrats in 2012. Democrats regaining control of House and/or Senate along with re-election of Pres. Obama would represent an undeniable mandate. Even if the GOP does not win a majority in 2010, any House seats they may pick-up are going to be extremely vulnerable in 2012. He sees a Win-Win for the Democrats.

If Republicans do take a narror majority In The House(and despite what the pundits say that Is still a Big IF although possable)
It will be short reign since with President Obama running for reelection we will take back it In 2012.

Despite what pundits like Tweety are trying to sell people Democrats will keep The Senate In November.Even Nate Silver thinks It
Is likely(although while I disagree with him on the House he should be taken more seriously than most)now It could be 50 Democrats
and 2(or possabily 3 If Crist can pick up steam In Florida) Independents.

If Democrats force Republicans to vote against and fillbuster Middle Class Tax Cuts that could be our october surprise.

Sooner or later Obama's successes will start to show.It took Clinton time to show his efforts were Improving the Economy.
Plus If Obama sticks to guns on afghanstain and Iraq Come early 2012 Liberals will have plenty of reasons to get excited about
voting for him In 2012.

If Republicans take the House they will be helping Obama.When people see a shutdown of the government,and all efforts on not
Improving economy but on repealing everything passed,hearings on 14th amendentment,and Investigations In Obama Independents
will start to see things clearly again.

Remember this Obama Is more popular than Clinton was at this time In 1994 or even the great Saint Reagan was at this time In 1982.

admit he has been nailing the repubs and the teabaggers consistently. His reason for doing so, imo, has more to do with him being vindictive and wanting payback for them throwing him 'under the bus' for telling them the truth but, damn, whatever his reason, I have to give him credit for nailing them as he has been doing, lol.
