Guys are we giving up on South Carolina Gubernatorial?
I haven't heard much talk about Haley (R) vs. Sheheen (D) on this board. I was hoping we had a chance since Haley is a teabagger that's hoping to get Sanford's seat.

Real Clear Politics AVG 10/5 - 10/19 --
48.0 37.3 Haley +10.7
Rasmussen Reports
10/19 - 10/19 500 LV 47 38 11 (undecided) Haley +9

Insider Advantage
10/19 - 10/19 878 LV 51 37 Haley +14

Winthrop
10/5 - 10/10 741 LV 46 37 Haley +9

I can't find a more recent poll. I figured we got this one, but then I heard noting.

1. I thought we had a chance, too.
But, this is South Carolina, and people here only vote for people with an "R" after their their name. It's been compounded by the Alvin Greene fiasco/theft. I really wish I could get out of this hellhole state.

2. When you have a nutty candidate on your ticket it prevents folks from voting straight ticket
I know in Delaware, O'Donnell is hurting the other candidates too. The republicans have pretty moderate folks running for Auditor and Treasurer, usually they can win one or both of those seats but it looks like we not only might pick up those too but gain keep control of our state offices too.

When you have solid candidates in the top slot that trickles down to the lower offices - makes it easier to vote straight partyline instead of splitting.

4. You sound like my friend who lives there.
He went as far as to say that teabagging is like Crack/Cocaine in SC.

3. Haley will win...
Red state + republican leaning cycle = Republican governor.

5. I was hoping for better.
And people tell me that the American people aren't dumb....in SC the dumbness seems to dominate the sane.
