Did he really get a low turnout or was it done on purpose by the planners.

1. Stewart rails against the Media. Yet uses their BS reports
to hit Obama.

7. He had 35k in Madison, Chicago and LA too. But, of course, those will be ignored along with
the USC rally.

16. OSU had John Legend performing on a Sunday evening
And the weather was nice so I think that's why there was a strong attendance there.

5. I agree...
he is reading his press clippings too much and his head and ego are getting awfully big....the fact that he called the president of the USA "dude" tells me he thinks alot of himself.

8. Actually, at the rally, when he gave out one of the awards for reasonableness,
he talked about people questioning the President and showed several clips, the last of which was the "dude" moment from his interview and he said, "Most of us blow it." The award in question went to that woman at the town hall a while back who very respectfully asked Obama a lot of awkward questions.

11. i wonder if that is an age thing also, this is the first time hte President
is his own age so he probably feels more comfortable talking to him than he would others hwo would have been older than him.

i can see him even being more nervous interviewing Clinton now than Obama .

10. It wasn't negative about the President
he made a joke of maybe Obama was wearing LeBrons jersey so thats why the arena wasn't full.

9. He wondered why the rally had been so poorly attended, then showed
Edited on Mon Nov-01-10 11:57 PM by gkhouston
a Photoshop of Obama in LeBron's jersey. He then went straight into a montage ridiculing Fox for distorting Obama's "car in the ditch" story.

on edit: I don't know what the actual rally attendance was. The newsclips shown claim an attendance of 8,000 in an arena seating 13,000. Perhaps some DUer who was actually there could give us his/her impression of the attendance figure?

12. I'm not in Cleveland. But when Obama
came to Denver in February the Secret Service closed the doors to the event facility while there was still a very long line of people with tickets waiting to get in. We weren't given the reason for their decision, just assumed they had a good one.

13. He got 8000 in an auditorium on a college campus on Halloween on a Sunday
Edited on Tue Nov-02-10 09:02 AM by WI_DEM
the crowd that was there was enthusiastic but the auditorium could hold 13,000--no big deal. If it had been Bush he would have been lucky to get 500.

14. Don't put too much stock on the sayings of Stewart.
He's been losing his funny for a while now. And pushing the same exaggerations I've seen Cenk push.

17. Only with Obama is 8,500 considered low turnout.
:puke:

Funny, I don't recall the media making a big deal out of Obama HUGE rallies including one that had 35,000 people.
