Reports of higher than expected turnout in highly Democratic areas continue to come in. Across the country, volunteers are hitting the doors and making phone calls, reaching out to voters and getting them to the polls."

Seriously, it was only 11:00am and it looked like everybody who'd turned 18 this year was in there voting. People under 30 definitely outnumbered over 30 while I was in there.

From an angry, OLD, WHITe dude...I haven't heard many blacks (who are NOT pro-gay rights) say much of that.

Because I don't see too many young tea baggers or black tea baggers or happy tea baggers. Now, myself, I am angry and white. I feel old (44), but maybe that is because I have a long memory and can remember accompanying my father in the voting booth in 1968. With all that, I feel that the old, white men running this country need to make room for everyone else 'cause they are REALLY fucking things up. I believe that is what the majority of youngsters really believe.

7. I live in a very red precinct and there was no waiting this morning. That was good news.

given that where I live it is 90% republicon, I decided before I went in that if there was less than 10 people in line in front of me it was going to be a good day for the Dems.

My son is 27, he worked all night, came to pick me up this morning to go vote. There definitely are young people very interested in this election.

for EARLY voting, there were published reports of waits two hours long. That's a week ago, and people were already fired up and ready to go.

On our news radio program, someone from the elections board said the 60% turnout or HIGHER is now possible.

60%? at midterms? Wow.

There are 30-40% more registered Ds than Rs in this state. Heavy turnout is great news for us.

In my nape of the forest, (SW burbs) there are more Rs than Ds, but western and northern burbs are far more liberal.

people there are very progressive (except for my old landlady). As the poster above mentioned. The southern suburbs are where the 'Pukes are more concentrated.

But when I voted, I overheard people talking, and frankly, as many seemed to be pushing the screens for Ds and for Rs.
