Sharron Angle: We shut out the media because they're unprofessional
A perfect coda to the Nevada Senate race: In a radio interview this morning, Sharron Angle blamed the media for her campaign's decision to shut out reporters, slamming the press as "unprofessional" and adding that she thinks candidates should teach the media a "lesson" whenever they have the "opportunity."

Angle also described that recent episode where a reporter tried to ask her questions in an airport as "an ordeal."

Angle's comments came in a conversation with conservative talk show Heidi Harris, which you can listen to right here. Asked about the airport episode, in which local reporter Nathan Baca tried in vain to get her to answer basic questions about her issue positions, she griped about "the ordeal in the airport" and complained that it was "the wrong place for a press interview."

"Truly we should have had a better place to have a press conference than at the bottom of the escalator," Angle complained.

2. Remember when she first started
and said that she only wanted the press to ask questions that she wanted them to. Well seems like at least she told the truth about something.

4. This women is horrid

She is a total embrassment.

Must be easy being a Republican.

Take questions from a lemming.
Avoid the press.
If the press asks a question and you are not capable of answering it just call them names and say it doesn't matter.

I dont know, but I want my leaders to be able to answer questions from ANYONE.

Republican pussy.

5. No, you idiot
You shut out the press because YOU are so unprofessional and idiotic you're afraid the press will expose you as such.

6. Typical ignorant teabagger
Sure she wants the typical Repugnican press conference. She decides when and where, she decides which reporters get to ask questions, she tells them what questions to ask (no followups because she may not have a pre-rehearsed answer for that one) and she gives nothing but canned answers/spin and doesn't have to clarify or backup anything. We should all know that 'professional' journalists should be toadys to the politician and never ask a hard or unexpected question or try to catch a politician off guard and get something other than the daily talking points. Her idea of a press conference is really just a political advertisement with the reporters as extras.

10. Sarah WolfKiller started this shit
and it works for her (so far).
People talk about how Tea-Baggers like Sarah will get destroyed in debates. Not so...they just refuse to participate or answer any questions that they don't feel like answering. (re: Biden/Palin debate)
Idiot Angle is taking her cues from the Quitter is all. The voting populace doesn't seem to mind. It's pathetic and it's where we are now.

8. I still blame Palin and Fox 100%
They set this grotesque standard.

I'm with Howard Dean - I will NEVER say "Fox" and "News" in the same sentence again.

13. Dubya created that mindset. After 9-11 reporters virtually genuflected in his presence...
... and if they failed to do so, they were excluded.

Going along with that -- THAT'S unprofessional for a journalist.

15. Recognize that this is a test of the Citizen's United Communication Strategy
Once you have secret companies running endless ads for you ... there is no need to hold ANY town halls, or EVER speak to any media but a media outlet that SUPPORTS you, as Fox supports Angle.

There will be NO QUESTIONS ... just a NARRATIVE distributed via political ads, and a friendly media.
