Have a very, very good feeling about tonight
:kick:

I believe we will have 54 Senate seats, 234 House Seats, and have a few pleasant surprises in the Governorships.

Thanks DU for getting out there and voting.

:yourock:

For all the doom and gloom via the media...

2. I would not be surprised to see the Repubs not gain all the seats they think they will
Went to vote this afternoon and was amazed to see a small line! Normally, walk right in (but usually I do go in a.m.)

It's just possible that the Dems will turn out after all.

4. They are... projection 90 million voters
and I think it will be conservative. Somebody posted that data in the morning...

This election is expected to surpass 2006 midterms...

3. I do as well... turnout is at historic highs
but we knew it.

Now for the pollsters... for the UNIVERSE of pollsters they REACHED, they are correct... but they missed huge slices of the electorate...

And that is why tonight we are gonna see some pleasant surprises.

6. ME TOO!! And you know what I'm going to celebrate
all our wins and all the great work done by the Dem volunteers and activists.....it's been very inspiring to be a part of no matter how it turns out, I think in the long run, we are a force to be reckoned with and they just can't announce for months that we aren't going to vote and have it be so!!

7. So Do I
We are hearing about all this high turnout. This bodes well.Congress flipped In 1994 because of low turnout.I have long said 2010
Is more like 1982 and 1998.We will suffer losses but not the ones the MSM have been pushing. We could have some upsets In senate
and Governorships.

9. The ONLY way we can lose
is if the GOP cheats/steals like we know they do. They will try, given the ridiculous predictions of their M$M mouthpieces -- but it won't be enough.

10. The crash from those happy pills is going to be tough
I've done everything I could today--I voted for every Democratic seat; I spent several hours at the Democratic Coordinated Campaign calling voters who'd sent in requests for mail-in ballots, but too late to get them (we wanted to let them know they could still vote at the polls, and I got 5 or 6 people to go do it); and then I came home and made more calls from the Obama for America website.

But we are not going to keep 234 seats in the House. It's just not going to happen. We'll keep a bare majority in the Senate.

I just don't want everyone (1) crying and screaming; and/or (2) shouting "stolen election"! The polls are pretty clear, and even if they're wrong, it's not going to save us from losing the House. Just some reality-based talk here.

When all is said and done, we will survive. It won't be the end of the world (though it's gonna be ugly). Just dig in and start working tomorrow for the things we believe in.

11. That is your opinion and I respect it. I have seen and heard enough on the ground to know
That this is not going to work out to the media's cookie-cutter narrative.

Wish us luck.

13. I truly hope I am wrong
I will eat crow right here, gladly. But I'd rather be happily proven wrong than live with an unrealistic hope that will be shattered.

12. Agreed
I don't know why everybody think high turnout here = Dem wins.

It's magical thinking, probably, but so is the tendency to say "We're gonna lose, we're gonna lose" (with the hidden hope of being wrong). The latter, of course, pretends to be "objective," when its purposes are just as incantatory as the first.

:-)

16. I have the same bad feeling I had
in 2008, hearing early reports that the GOP was coming back.

Say, what happened in 2008, anyway?
