Redistricting Amendments in Florida seem to be winning! Requires 60% to pass.

Redistricting Amendments in Florida seem to be winning! Requires 60% to pass.
This would be great for Florida and the nation! Rick 'Medicare Fraudster' Scott is leading the Democrat, Alex Sink, however. Rubio's big victory appears to be helping Scott--at least, so far. However, the race has not yet been called for the fraudster.

STANDARDS FOR LEGISLATURE TO FOLLOW IN LEGISLATIVE REDISTRICTING

Yes for Approval 1,829,529 (61.99%)
No for Rejection 1,121,872 (38.01%)
Amendments require 60% to pass
2,951,401 total votes cast.

STANDARDS FOR LEGISLATURE TO FOLLOW IN CONGRESSIONAL REDISTRICTING
Yes for Approval 1,831,654 (62.41%)
No for Rejection 1,103,183 (37.59%)
Amendments require 60% to pass
2,934,837 total votes cast.

Still holding out hope for Sink and if these amendments pass, it might not be such a sucky night here in FL after all.

4. Basically, yes. Guidelines must be followed. Both amendments won!

Summary of Amendment 5:

Legislative districts or districting plans may not be drawn to favor or disfavor an incumbent or political party. Districts shall not be drawn to deny racial or language minorities the equal opportunity to participate in the political process and elect representatives of their choice. Districts must be contiguous. Unless otherwise required, districts must be compact, as equal in population as feasible, and where feasible must make use of existing city, county and geographical boundaries.
