I feel very bad for Pelosi
In all liklihood Reid will win and keep his position, but Pelosi, who did an incredible job of getting the house to pass a lot of legislation that was stalled in the senate, will no longer be the Speaker of the House. She deserved better.

1. Good policy is harder to do than good politicking......
Edited on Tue Nov-02-10 10:45 PM by FrenchieCat
She'll go down in history, and that's when we will know what we had,
and then what we threw away.....by being pissy about every fucking thing,
and allowing the media to use that piss by them throwing it in our face.

31. WE didn't throw it away. And Pelosi did everything that was asked of her.
WE fought for...WE voted for...WE screamed for change.

Obama's compromising, capitulation, and continuation of failed policies did us all in.

Time to give another Democrat a chance to lead that caucus.

Nancy really rocked that job. I hate that she's gone - esp. since freakin' TanMan is moving in. I don't know if I can stomach watching him behind the prez at the SOTU.

24. No.
It just demonstrates how friggin IGNORANT this country really is. If people had actually done their homework, rather than relying on the corporate media and bullshit chain e-mails for their information, the GOP would have been dead and buried a long, long time ago. And, if they had actually paid attention in Civics class, they'd understand who the real culprits are that are the source of their pain and suffering.

The movie "Idiocracy" IS a documentary.

33. Yes...and they now have pressure to perform some/many of the issues
articulated during the campaign....

Many of which are currently impossible....such as quit upping the National debt and

reducing Gov't spending..

Their views and ideas indicate a poor understanding of how things are supposed to work for the Nations Health....this is so sad that we go backwards when we are so close to fixing the damn prob...

They are tools for the Mega Rich/Masters who will abandon them soon enough...The Baggers are a bad idea gone viral due nutrients traced to the Dick/Kochs combo...

She did an amazing job. She was strong and effective, while Harry Reid was the opposite. The media is
just as much to blame for pushing the repugs hatred of Pelosi. They in effect, campaigned for the GOP.

It's maddening but what can you do other than just continue to point it out?

and will miss her as Speaker. Got this from her today.

"Over the last four years, the Democratic House Majority that you made possible took courageous action on behalf of America's middle class to create jobs and save the country from the worst economic catastrophe since the Great Depression.

Despite the outcome of last night's elections, please know that your grassroots support still made a difference.

There are many courageous Democrats who won close races last night because of your remarkable support.

The outcome of this election does not diminish the work we have done together for the American people. With so much at stake for our country, we must all strive to find common ground to support the middle class, create jobs, protect Social Security, reduce the deficit and move our nation forward. Today, all Democrats should hold their heads high.

Your support and dedication has made a positive difference in the lives of all Americans.

For that, I cannot thank you enough.

Nancy Pelosi
Speaker of the House"

I'd like to thank all Democrats who made courageous votes despite knowing the possible political consequences. Ultimately, many of them will be vindicated and if not they may still be proud of following conscience over convenience. There will be another day for us.
