With about a dozen democratic seats yet to be called.

16. So to reach 70, they'll have to win about all of 'em. Not gonna happen. |

17. Right... about 65 looks most likely. |
|
But that's closer to "about 70" than it is to "55 tops", no?
Unless we're playing by The Price Is Right rules? :-)

So obviously MSNBC's projections got more and more bleaker for the Dems as the night went on.

12. Right now the # is 59. Oberstar and Minnick are losing. |

McNerny in CA 11 could lose too. Which takes us to 62. Larsen in WA is in a close race. Takes us to 64 if he loses.
That is all I got now.

19. Some may... But they didn't need 60 to be veto-proof. |
|
They needed more like 100...
Plus more Senate seats than were even up for a vote.
IOW, a veto stops anything that lacks strong crossover appeal with dems.

15. No, and there's DUers all over the place gloating that the Blue Dogs are gone. |
|
I hope the sight of Speaker of the House John Boehner gives them ulcers. That's what getting rid of the Blue Dogs from conservative districts has done for us -- the Orange Man cometh. :grr:
At least we still have the Senate. Maybe we can call a one-day truce on demanding Harry Reid's ouster from leadership. :eyes: Right. Sure.

22. We all think "if the party followed my lead, we would always win". Few of us will say "oops, my way |
|
didn't work so well. We need to consider going in a different direction"
Each of us is always right and the party does not follow our opinion at its peril.
You need to give much higher odds if you are looking for a DUer who looks in the mirror when he or she starts looking for someone to blame. It is always "somebody else's fault". When you start assessing blame, your first move is to extend your arm with index finger straight and start looking for culprits. Stay away from mirrors at all costs. ;)
