I know it's REALLY early for a 2012 thread... |
|
but Senate-wise
the following have to be seen as being vulnerable:
1) Bill Nelson - FL
FL just went crazy by dumping House DEMS and voting in Scott and Rubio.
2) The Dem ladies of the midwest, McCaskill, Stabenow and Klobuchar will ALL have major fights in States that just went redder.
3) Ben Nelson - NE
4) Jim Webb - VA
5) Joe Manchin - WV
Again...
6) Herb Kohl - WI
expected to retire and Paul Ryan is expected to run.
That's 8 seats up for grabs. Hopefully the economy will be healthy and the Obama voters will help re-elect them all.

1. The presidency is also vulnerable... |
|
Listening to the callers on Big Ed's show today (especially labor), look for a primary challenge.

8. Maybe, but the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again... |

...expecting different results.

10. And that is exactly how black voters will feel... putting trust |
|
that the American people will stop holding them to higher standards but to no avail...

a significant portion of the black vote, assuming the other poster's assertion comes to pass?
Good luck with that. The precedents for primary challenge are already bad.

9. My vote will be gone as well |

The lefties can wallow in GOP administrations until the end of time, for all I care. They'll be Mondaled over and over again, and a good number of Democrats will just walk away from the political process altogether.

... many of us DFLers are expecting a primary battle.

4. Really depends on the economy, 2 years is long off |
|
Higher turnout, if Obama appears headed for easy re-election we can keep those seats

7. another interesting thought... |
|
there are still 35 DEM held districts in "Southern States".
These kinds of districts fell heavily last night... will more follow?
The END of the Blue Dog Southern Dem?

13. There is one upside, however. If people are still dissatisfied with progress made they might |
|
take it out on the Repubs. It will depend very heavily on the message that is put out during the next round of campaigns. Lay the blame squarely the the feet of the GOP.
