The reason this is mostly Obama's fault
Obama completely botched health care reform. No matter how unfair the other side played and how obstructive they were, Obama had the American people, physicians and the largest health care organizations supporting the public option and he sold us out to insurance companies and big pharma.

The secondary reason for complete Democratic failure is the weak leadership in congress. Instead of having a bunch of Anthony Weiners and Alan Graysons, we have weak kneed leaders such as Pelosi and Reid. The Democrats have become corporate whores with very few true progressives left in the party.

Obama states he now wants to work with Republicans in a bi-partisan manner. How did that work out for you the first two years? They will never work with Obama and the more he tries the more the base will erode.

1. Disagree. It's the fault of the Republicans who wouldn't work with him, who
spread lies about what he wanted to and DID accomplish, and the people who weren't smart enough to look into the facts.

And maybe people like you who don't appreciate the progress that has been made?

3. What about the fact that he failed to even try to pass a bill
with a public option.

5. Oh, there's a whole list of things I'm disappointed and pissed about, but
I believe that he proceeded with what he felt he could get -- he was being pragmatic, and maybe somewhat naive.

My appreciation of what he has done tempers my criticism of what he hasn't. I'm with him 'til the end, or unless he does something REALLY unforgivable (which I honestly don't see happening),

6. When you control the executive and legislative branches
you have to assume some responsibility. If you let the minority party control the agenda then you are weak.

10. Not saying they shouldn't. Obama dropped the ball on PO.
But, the Republicans made it hard as they possibly could to make sure of it. Interesting you didn't mention it.

7. Yeah, I'm sure that a public option would have changed the minds of all those swing voters
You know, the ones who voted out Russ Feingold and Alan Grayson.

9. No the outcome may have been the same but at least there
would be future success the Democrats could claim victory for. Clinton had big losses in '94 but was vindicated and credited with the largest economic expansion in history. Obama will have nothing to hanghis hat on and will be a one termer. This is coming from someone who supported him from day one. I also sent a lot of money to his campaign. When he sold us out on health care he lost my money support and millions of others are just like me.

17. So the point is you gave money so he owes you?
People who write that seem to have a very high opinion of themselves as if what they want has to be what everyone else wants and needs. What we have to understand is that running for election, writing opinions on websites such as this are both much easier than actually governing. By the way - I and millions more like me who are not quite so full of ourselves can see the reality of what Obama and others like him have been fighting and we continue to support him. I'm sorry if this sounds angry - I am generally a very upbeat person but I am so tired of the "He's not what I wanted - just not good enough - he could do more if he really tried." meme that I'm saying things that I usually wouldn't.

14. You do realize that a large amount of Right Wing voters would vote against him no matter what
right?

Let's just be honest here. The fact that he is a black man was enough to whip up the fervor of the Tea Party, and that wouldn't have changed no matter how well Health Care was done.

Has he made mistakes, absolutely. But let's really fix the blame on the real enemy here. You have a very ignorant, racist and easily led group of people who think we have a Satan worshipper in the White House. THAT is what triggered last night, and THAT is what will continue to trigger resentment and fear.

President Obama, as I said, has made some errors and shouldn't get a complete free pass. But you have to realize he could be absolutely perfect and would have had a revolution against him regardless.

The answer rhymes with "blow".
