I mean some of them are so obvious they don't even run from the light. The one above is too slimey to even work for the GOP though. He works for the same people who own the GOP and for his own molasses. He couldn't be more hostile or injurious to the fortunes of the Democratic Party and its constituencies if his name was Bush Boehner Limbaugh, IV. When moles like this one are eliminated or driven deep underground and we aren't relying on enemies of the Democratic Party's rank and file to do our thinking for us, AND we STILL keep getting trounced I'd be more inclined to entertain theories about covert agents placed high in the Democratic Party delivering intelligence to the GOP and helping to mislead us into doomed policy decisions.

5. Occam's Razor: the most simple explanation is preferred.

The Democratic losses of yesterday do not need to be explained away with any grand conspiracies, electoral fraud, or stolen elections. The mood of the country was ugly against incumbents and Democrats in particular. Combine that with the ordinary human mistakes and missteps made in any election and there is a simple explanation for the loss.

There are certainly many to blame for the loss, but there is no reason to suspect "moles" or to make any one person or group a sacrificial lamb for the losses. It's politics, it's life, shit happens. Sometimes you just lose, but you don't give up. The Republicans certainly didn't give up when they lost everything 2 years ago and people here were dancing on their grave claiming the GOP was finished.

I don't think either political party is going to gain absolute dominance and within any 10 years there will be a lot of back and forth controlling houses of Congress or the presidency. The electorate is impatient and when they do not perceive things getting done quickly enough to their liking their mood will be to throw the bums out.

I think it was just a loss though. In hindsight it might have been better to go down as a lion as opposed to a lamb. If you are destined to strike out it is better to go for the home run rather than the safe single.

Obama made some mistakes by not concentrating on only the economy (though I admire his courage to actually take on the headache inducing reforming of the health care system). Rahm was an asshole, Summers a corporate toad. But really, what would have saved or made this economy palatable to the American public by now? There are huge issues at play that can't get fixed in two years by Dems (and Repubs always make it worse). Our economy was built since the 1980's and 90's on bubbles that kept bursting but kept reappearing. The corporations are more powerful then ever. Citizen's United made it even worse. Obama was supposed to fix all of that with a very moderate Senate that clung to the status quo? Please.

I don't think the Razor applies here. All other premises are NOT equal. We cannot use the Razor because an attempt to create an equivalency between the right wing and the left wing is false. For example: the two sides do not have equal integrity, equal desire to serve the people (rather than themselves), or equal freedom from corrupting influences. The right wing obviously has MUCH less integrity, MUCH more corruption, and MUCH less of a desire to serve the greater good instead of the best interests of a select few.

They are wrong. We are right. There is no equivalency between wrong and right. Doubting that there's a conspiracy is fine, but trying to justify your doubt with Occam's Razor is not an appropriate line of reasoning.
