In the end the Dems will (pending auto recount in MN) take Five GOP governorships

Dems won: Hawaii, California, Vermont, Connecticut and pending a recount--(Dayton leads by 8800 votes)

The GOP also lost the RI governorship--to Chafee an indpendent who supports President Obama.

Dems won the Colorado Governor's race which had been tightening. Also, while Obama's seat in the senate is lost, it seems like Gov Quinn has a good chance to eek out a victory in the Illinois Governor's race.

Still, my biggest disappointments were losing (narrowly) Ohio and Florida--if we had won both of them it would look a lot better!

1. CT has it's first Dem Gov in 20 years. Makes me happy.

We had an independent, then a Repub that went to jail, then his Repub LT. Gov who was moderate and not entirely a terrible person. But Malloy will be much, much better.

9. Bridgeport had a lack of ballots and voting was kept open until 10pm. The #'s came in

today and our SOS said it was over 3,000 votes. Foley is done, no recount over 2000 votes in Connecticut.

4. It's not really red, and many races were very close. The Repubs control everything expect for 1

Senate seat-Casey's and controlling everything can be a bad thing-especially when almost half of the electorate didn't vote for Republicans.

I was pretty depressed Tues. night and yesterday. Corbett will run PA into the ground, rip up our beautiful environment and leave the mess for a Democrat to clean up.

12. You won't want to live in PA after the Marcellus drilling. They have no idea what to do with

the fracking fluid polluted water. It is being dumped into rivers and streams now because they can't treat it all. The footprint of drilling is huge, acres, and it takes 1-4 million gallons of water to do one well. Trucks carrying all the fluid are all over the place now and it's only just started. The new governor is against any regulations to protect the environment and is opposed to a tax on the drillers to do cleanup. Ugliness.

People are just looking at the money. Once their water is undrinkable, where will they go?? I remember when streams ran orange from mine acid draining. That's still going on, come to think of it. Anyway, hell is opening up with Marcellus shale drilling.

14. W. PA here, "ground zero" for mine pollution. It's just now getting cleaned up and here comes

the "Residual Waste" trucks dumping into the same creeks we cleaned up after years of mine pollution. The countryside is ugy with all the drill sites, polluted fracking water sitting in acres of plastic sheeting waiting to leak into the ground to peoples' wells.

15. I'm from the suburbs of Pgh. originally. Lived all over the US

and we came home to retire. Volunteered with a local watershed authority years ago when Turtle Creek looked the color of Boehner. Got that cleaned up enough to support trout....it's killing me thinking about what's going on now :cry:.

10,000 and it looks like it will be, but Emmer's republican ordered lawyers are going to demand a recount anyway.
