time to build a firewall for 2012

Done with crying and whining. Now is time to get serious about our REALISTIC prospects for 2012. Looking at last nights results, the West came through for us and the Midwest did not.

There were some good news in the South, particularly North Carolina. We sent everyone back to DC except for one blue dog. It now looks like NC is more purple than Va.

We need to work on latino voter registration in the southeast which is seeing an influx. With states like SC, Ga, Al, Miss, and NC that has a black population in the 20% or more with latino voters that is a motherfreaking firewall. Now realistically we may not turn Miss, Alabama, SC,and Georgia blue but it will help to change governorships and district representation.

Last night was last night. Let's figure out what we need to do going forward.

2. We're actually not sure yet about losing the blue dog in NC

Recount is on, only about 1000 vote difference.

If we concentrate on it, we can build out of NC, even with the strong presence from Red northerners moving south and the good ol boys.

4. Dems can not afford to sleep on NC

We have the most HBCUs of any State and countless universities and colleges. We have a young and an educated electorate, and a black population of over 25%. We are becoming more cosmopolitan (urban) everyday.
Yeah we may have lost the state legislature last night, but we are sending everybody back to DC.

5. I got more depressed looking at '12 Senate seats

Losing 9 Dem incumbents is not out of the realm of possibility, given Tuesday's results.*

*pending on which whackjobs the Tea Party is successful in running. That may save some Dem seats :)

We need to defend twice as many seats as the Rethugs. Without anew plan the Senate will go Republican in 2012.

Say you'll fight for policies that will help put average Americans back to work and that tangibly benefit "main street" over Wall Street...and then DO it.
