Where is the fight?

Still reaching out to a Republican Party whose main goal is, and has been, to destroy his presidency and the Democratic Party no matter the cost to the people of this country.

I found the press conference today to be meek and weak.

Where is the fight in this man?

1. What would you rather he have done?
Borrow Pallidino's bat and threaten to club all the Republicans over the head?

3. I wish he would have...

...deflected any talk of working with Repugs and not delved into it.

For starters.

5. The voters elected republicans. He can't just say "I am not going to work with republicans"
Edited on Wed Nov-03-10 09:16 PM by emulatorloo
That's insulting to voters and it would make him appear SERIOUSLY out of touch with Reality.

OTOH that does not mean he can't call them out in the next two years while they REFUSE to do anything but campaign for 2012.

14. Republicans don't do bipartisanship
Republicans will not work with Obama and they wont compromise with him, they will only demand compromise FROM him. Obama should play hardball with them. He needs to go on the offensive about the reality of what tax cutting for the rich has done to this country. He has the CBO scores on his side. He needs to start calling their bluff and go on the offensive if he wants to save what is left of this country.

18. Hope you saw Richard Wooff on Countdown tonight. Apparently HardBall is the plan as
soon as the Repubs do something stupid. Which as you know won't rake much time.

4. Ot like O'Donnell did? Reading a lecture to Chris Coons and recommending he watch her commercials?
They have to acknowledge the election results or they would look CRAZY like the teabaggers.

2. They have to make conciliatory noises today, if not they look insane and delusional
as if they have no clue how the election came out.

EXAMPLE: Carl Paladino and Christine O'Donnell's speeches.

That does not mean they have to do every crazy shit piece of legislation that Boehner's house puts out. Much of Boehner's stuff won't even make it to the Senate floor. Pretty sure Obama said relitigating Healthcare was a no-go (I know he said something was a no-go, but I was out of the room for the first part so I am only 90% sure about the topic)

6. Yes, I believe it was on healthcare that he said the thing about not
relitigating it.

I know that Bonerhead and his minions are thinking they can just waltz in the front door and start systematically dismantling everything that has been passed in the past two years, but that isn't going to happen.

I think it's more likely that they are going to show themselves even more for the assholes that they are.

And I agree with you; Obama had to acknowledge the wins, etc., and not stick his head in the sand like Palladino and O'Donnell did.

Thanks to those who over rode it. ;-)

The President spoke as The President today. It's his job to work for the people, not act like a spoiled brat.

I think Obama deserves ZERO faith at this point. I mean, really. The AUDACITY.

is having it out with the American people, misinforming them about everything, while the left continues navel gazing about the "horrible, weak, dysfunctional, mealy-mouthed, corporatist, clueless, timid, cowardly, should be primaried, one-term" Democratic President.

And to think the friggin GOP/teabaggers want to impeach him.

:grr:

17. What do you expect the president of the United States
to say after he loses the House

He doesn't get to tell the Repukes to fuck off like we dream of him doing.

At least he didn't say the day of " big government" is over like his earlier Democratic predecessor.

How own base doesn't want the man to make any accomplishments, and they will beat the shit out of his name no matter what he does. He has no support from either side, because they both want him to lose.
