I know they said that during the election, but did they reiterate that since? They can do that by simple majority at the beginning of the new session, I believe, but will they?

1. Reid suggested the rules would change, and he knew how to do it. |

2. They are in "the people sent us a message" mode right now. I expect they will pick it up again, |
|
especially if the Republicans block a jobs bill or an anti-outsourcing bill during the lame duck. They need to make the case to the voters that. 1) the Republicans aren't representing the voters who want jobs and 2) they are abusing the rules.
JMHO, I am sure someone will attack me.

5. No... and they're not going to... and now there's no NEED to. |
|
1) There aren't enough democrats who would be willing to try it
2) It would be a bad idea (and almost certainly hurt electorally)
3) Most importantly - with the exception of nominees... what are republicans going to filibuster? They'll be happy to vote "no" on a given bill (and lose the vote) and then let the House republicans vote "no" and the bill is dead.
Republicans used the filibuster because it was all they had. Now they have more.

whatever the pukes pass in the House goes to the end of the line. Make them vote up or down on the 420 bills that have passed the House and are sitting in the Senate waiting for a vote. F**k the next election and play some hard ball!

If they don't pass both houses in this Congress... they don't pass.
