I found a wonderful site for anyone gearing up for 2012 already, and
Edited on Thu Nov-04-10 12:35 PM by FrenchieCat
have decided that primarying the President is a great idea!

See here ----> http://www.gop.com/

Considering that this is would be the ultimate gift to the opposition,
and that the end result of such is essentially the same as that of the GOP,
I'm thinking that cutting through the chase two years early, and joining forces
with those in opposition might save some time and energy.

As a Bonus, the media apparently will be as helpful as it can be,
even if it means looking conspiciously biased against Democrats....
so that fact should make accomplishing the overall goal quite easy to get done,
since the media's microphone is a whole lot bigger than this White House's.....
and many times louder, unyielding and relentless.

5. I'm not sure why anyone would unrec the obvious......
That if the goal is essentially the same, why not join forces?
Makes sense to me.

No need for some in pretending, as being honest is a virtue.

24. I'll Admit It
I gave an unrec, because it calls a large group of DUers that if they want Obama to have a primary challenger in 2012, they are republicans. And I am not an idiot (neither are you - or Frenchie).

33. Most of us know exactly where the unrecs are coming from.
Their site used to have an open forum for discussing their coordinated DU attacks. Now that forum is private.

3. In November 2012, I want a Democrat elected to the White House
If Barack Hussein Obama wants to be that Democrat, that's great, but he's gonna have to work for it. Starting now.

9. I'm just providing a site, not for you, but for those who are planning
on working hard to primary the Democratic President,
and are savvy enough to understand clearly
what this means in the long run; and it ain't ending up with a
Democrat in the White House.

It is not for those who simply want to organize
to come up with a viable strategy to demand certain actions from Congress,
and to request from the President that he demand it too.

Anyone whose primary goal is to go after the President
without mentioning going after Congress, doesn't really "want" policies to happen,
only an excuse to make this President responsible for everything,
no matter that an entire congressional house will be the ones
determining the agenda.

Alan Grayson perhaps.

I bet he could win over the GOP easy! afterall, the whole country is so progressive!

or at least we could find that secret teleport thingie where instead of 'progressing' to another better place incrementally as it is the only unmagical way to do it,
or we can find that magic teleport place and whooooooooosh! we're there!!

Why should DU allow itself to be "used" once again for the gain of the GOP?
That doesn't sound like something most of us should support at this time.

26. Every incumbent should face a primary challenge
at every level, whether the incumbent is a Democrat or Republican.
I don't expect a serious challenge to Obama, but I would like to have a choice. May the best man or woman win.
I didn't vote for B. Clinton in the DEM primary in 1996 and that turned out OK for him! He got 88 percent of the vote!

29. I just feel that's what democracy is about.
If someone thinks they can do a better job, run. May the best man or woman win. Pretty simple. I don't see any DEM even coming close to challenging Obama in the 2012 primary, but if they think they can, go for it. I may even vote for that person. I don't always vote for the incumbent in a primary if it looks like the incumbent is going to win easily.

None of these cutesy sarcastic posts bemoaning this failed administration.

Get out there and wave the banner high for your primary contender of choice!

...except for Dean, who said he has no plans to challenge.

...or Feingold, who said he has no plans to challenge.

...or Kucinich, who said he has no plans to challenge.

But no matter! There's got to be a Progressive hero with a GINORMOUS magic wand out there somewhere!

39. Thank you so much
I was really starting to feel turned inside out about this whole thing on this site and the tone that DU has taken against our president and other Dem's. It has started to spiral into RU instead of DU. The bashing has been relentless and always coached in the context of them being better or more committed liberals. This president and this Congress has been the most productive in modern history and done more to further liberal ideals and worked to the benefit of all Americans, regardless of party. Thank all of you on this page for restoring my faith in DU and that there are still people here that believe in the job that the president is doing.
