"No Compromise" is their position.

1. Why not. What have THEY got to lose???
Unless there are cameras at the meeting, they can come out afterwards and spin it any way they want...

4. It would be their first act of defiance after the election. Their base would love it. It's all
about the next election according to McConnell.

2. Which "leaders" did he invite?
Is there any reason to expect that the same four will hold their current roles?

3. We don't know yet. "Party leaders" probably means the ones of term's congress.

5. They pretty much have to.
If the don't it make them look bad, and that's not a very good way to start out after saying they have "listened" to the people! What the people say is they want to stop the BS and get down to working together on solving the problems. They have to at least look like they are trying to work with the president, even though they have already come out and said they wouldn't compromise! One thing for sure it's going to be interesting to watch them play their game the next two years, trying to make the president fail, while trying to make the voters actually think they are doing what the people want!

McConnell is in grand stand mode, hard to predict what he'll pull, but anything to grab attention.

11. Yes but with their cheshire cat grins plastered on their faces
These asshats have no plans to cooperate on anything or progress anything.

They are counting on the stupidity of the American people to extend their gains to regaining control of the Senate and White House in 2012 based on an Nobama platform.

Those who voted the Reputards into office have only themselves to blame.
