There were a lot of reasons for the economic downturn, not much if any lay at the hands of the Ds, a great deal of it lays at the hands of the Rs ... The debt is ALL the Rs at this point ...

But, the Rs screamed bloody murder, and the "media" the "journalists" who should feret through the BS and not report it, report it like the gospel ...

They gleefully say "they are all the same" with endless streams of false equivilency to mitigate the crape that is too friggen bad to just ignor, they evercerate a D for nothing ...

Howard Dean ... the "scream" ended his political career ... Fin for real ...

They spewed the Karl Rove crape about a "permanent republican majority" the day after the Rs gained a smaller margin in both houses than the Ds had, then started breathlessly anticipating the "tsunami" this year the day after the presidential win in 2008 ...

I just do not get how people in DU can undersell how bad it is now ...

The media foisted Bushco on the country, it played the innocent victim to allow Iraq ...

They don't even try to hide it ... Chris Mathews had on an R and D before the 2008 elections, and they started talking about national security ... The R was pathetic, the D well spoken and spot on ... What they said was not even heard by Mathews - he just flat out said, "sorry, national security is the Rs area, just the way it is ..." Something along those lines ...

The Ds were facing loses no matter this election, and it was going to be worse with Citizens United, but the media in both actively pushing right wing lies and nonsense, not calling the Rs out on crape, completely not reporting what good has been done ... It was the difference here - allowed the wingers to coopt the "middle" and depressed the weak minded Ds ...

Sorry, HCR WAS a BFD ... Sorry, Wall Street reform was a BFD ... Sorry, BO has had an EXCEPTIONAL first two years ...

But, the media just ignored it all, and gave a megaphone to whatever nonsense the Rs threw out ...
